Ancient rice
My wife bought ancient rices. You probably wonder what is “ancient rice”. That is the rice Japanese ancient people had been cultivating. I’ll show you the photo of rices.

There are three type of color, red and black and green. There is no white rice. All of them are milled and, of course, not artificially colored. Maybe you know 赤飯(seki-han, that means red rice). But seki-han rice is originally white and colored with red beans during cooking.
All-so-important taste of rice is….frankly speaking, I can’t distinguish the difference between present-day rice and ancient rice. ha ha..
