So one whose training obeys Dou understands the philosophy completely without thinking.

It is mysterious and hard for Western people to understand because thinking is important in Western countries.

It is dfficult for me to explain that ideal.

  • So one whose training obeys Dou understands the philosophy completely without thinking.
  • One whose training follows the Tao understands the philosophy completely without thinking. [Alternative: One who is trained in the Tao...]

In the west, 道 is known as "the Tao," and philosophies and religions based on this principle are called "Taoism." This is because the Chinese word 道 was Romanized as "tao" when Taoist texts were first popularized in the west (it is now Romanized as "dao" in pinyin, the official style of Romanization in the PRC).
My favorite Taoist text by far is the 莊子 (庄子, Zhuangzi, Chuang Tsu).

Seriously, though, I think the 莊子 contains some of the most 分かりやすい explanations of the ideal, and they are beautiful literature as well as profound teaching.
