So, heatstroke is 熱中症。

Heat is like a hot.

stroke is like a punch, shot. so imagine your head hitted by sunshin's hand!

It is common in summer.

And I think you watch about heatstroke on TV news.

I didn't know it was 熱中症 in Japanese. I'm kind of surprised, because I think of 熱中 as something completely different!

  • Heat is like a hot.
  • Heat is like a hot a combination of high temperature and high humidity.

Heat and temperature are two different things. That is why you can reach into a 350 degree (F) oven without burning you hand, if you don't touch anything, but will burn you hand if you put it in 200 degree (F) water.

The situation which causes heat stroke depends on the temperature, the humidity, and whether or not you are in direct sun. In the US, the measure is WBGT, which is a computation based on dry-bulb thermometer, wet-bulb thermometer and globe thermometer readings. Basically, even a moderately high temperature on a very humid day can be dangerous.

The primary problem is the victim loses his or her ability to regulate body temperature and the body temperature starts to get very high. People need to get attention at once.
