Forgiven

A friend of mine with whom I have been contacting for quite a long time suddently vanished without leaving any thread where he's been.A month ago,he came back to our lives not even noticing anyone around, the way of which was exactly like that when he left.He came back changing to be someone I barely know. Not just the appearance, but also his way of thinking and talking,I started to wonder who is the real him that I have been conversing for so long. What happened that changed him to who he is,or what made him give up the old self and to embrace this new one.He didn't send any messages or emails during his absence, nor did he take the innitiative to talk to me after coming back.I have been told that you shall make friends of various types.I am not sure if I can do that,as honest and straight-foward as I am,I can barely take those who hide loads of secrets before me as friends.Or I am in the wrong side~
A friend of mine with whom I have been in contact/who I have been contacting for quite a long time suddently vanished without leaving any trace/clue of where he went.
A month ago, he came back into our lives not even noticing anyone around, the way of which was exactly like that when he left [I am not sure what you mean by this last part].
He came back changed into someone I barely knew. [You started with past tense, "came", so you should continue in past tense.]
Not just his appearance, but also his way of thinking and talking. I started to wonder who is the real him that I have been conversing with for so long.
What happened that changed him to who he is, or what made him give up his old self and to embrace this new one?
He didn't send any messages or emails during his absence, nor did he take the initiative to talk to me after coming back.
I have been told that you should make friends of various types.
I am not sure if I can do that. As honest and straightforward as I am, I can barely take those who hide loads of secrets from me as friends.
Or I am on the wrong side?
