Describing the Chart 2
The bar chart illustrates a number of prisoners in Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada from 1930 to 1980.
As we can see for Britain the trend during the fifty years is upward, the figure of prisoners increased from about thirty thousand people to just above sixty thousand. This is the only situation with steady rise. The numbers for other countries fluctuate. For instance, in Australia firstly the figure of imprisonment dropped by 1940 to about fifty thousand people. However, after this there was an increase until 1970 and then again decrease to about the same figure as in 1940.
Overall, for Australia situation with crime improved from seventy thousand prisoners to fifty thousand, as for New Zealand in general (from one hundred thousand to approximately ninety thousand). And the same trend is for Canada, the number decreased from one hundred twenty thousand to about ninety thousand people. In contrast with USA where the figure of imprisonment is increased dramatically gaining one hundred forty thousand.

As we can see, for Britain the trend during the fifty-year period is upward; the number of prisoners increased from about thirty thousand people to just above sixty thousand.
This is the only situation that shows a steady rise.
For instance, in Australia the figure of imprisonment dropped to about fifty thousand people by 1940.
However, after this there was an increase until 1970 and then again a decrease to about the same figure as in 1940.
Overall, for Australia the situation with crime has improved, going from seventy thousand prisoners to fifty thousand, as with New Zealand in general (from one hundred thousand to approximately ninety thousand.)
The same trend can be seen in Canada; the number decreased from one hundred twenty thousand to about ninety thousand inmates.
In contrast, in the USA the figure of imprisonment has increased dramatically, ending with one hundred forty thousand.
Using the term 'figure of imprisonment' doesn't sound right. Figure seems to refer to the picture. I think 'level of imprisonment' or 'the level of prisoners' would be better phrases to use.

The numbers for the other countries fluctuate.
In contrast, with in the USA, where the figure of imprisonment is number of prisoners has increased dramatically, gaining growing by one hundred forty thousand.
