今日の英語のテスト

私が教えているスクールでは、今日はテストの日でした。
Today was "test day" for the kids at the school where I teach.
今晩私は、レッスンが二つありました。
I had two classes this evening.
テストは割とうまくいったと思います。 最初のレッスンの生徒たちは、みんな非常にいい点を取りました。合格出来ないと私が思っていた一人の生徒も、合格することができました。よかったです。
The test went pretty well. In my first class, all students did extremely well. One student that I didn't think would pass actually passed.
でも二番目のレッスンでは、二人の生徒が落ちました。数点足りなかっただけなので、それでも合格させようと思います。
But in my second class, 2 students failed. They just failed by a mark or two, so I think we will still pass them.
その二人の生徒を留年させてまた一年間同じことを教えることより、進級したほうがいいと思います。
I think it's better to pass them and let them learn new English stuff than to hold them back for a whole year.
なぜなら、留年する生徒にとっては、英語がつまらなくなるからです。
I think that if we hold them back for a year, they'll lose interest.

なぜなら、留年する生徒（にとって）は、英語がつまらなくなると私が思いますうからです。
たしかに、新しいことを習う方が、もっと勉強したいという気持ちが起こるかもしれません。厳しくするところと優しくするところ、バランスが大事なんだと思います。

私が教えているスクールでは、今日、進級テストがありました。
今晩私は、２時間のレッスン（授業）がありました。(「二時間」 doesn't means "2hours". In Japanese school, we call one lesson "ichi-jikan".)
最初のレッスン（クラス）の生徒たちは、みんな非常にいい点を取りました。
合格出来ないと私が思っていた一人の生徒も、実際は合格することができました。
よかったです。（ホッとしました。）
でも二番目のレッスン（クラス）では、二人の生徒が落ちました。
数点の差だけで不合格したので、彼らを合格させると思います。（合格点まであと１，２問だったので、合格させようと思ってます。）

その二人の生徒を留年させてまた一年間同じことを教えることより、進級させて新しい英語を教えたほうがいいと思います（考えています）。
なぜなら、留年させられれば、生徒は英語に興味がなくなってしまうと思います。
この時期の学校に、「進級」の問題はつきものですね。
今日、私の学校では入学試験の合格発表がありました。
About "so I think we still pass them", I should have said "we WILL still pass them". But "still" is fine. In this case, "still" means "anyway". "We will pass them anyway" would mean the same thing. How do you say this "still/anyway" in Japanese? Can you say 「どうせ合格させようと思っています」 ？
I didn't specify in my entry, but the test was for kids from 7 to 9 years old. So if we hold kids back for a full year, I think they will just lose interest in English.

You mean "still"="anyway", right?
I don't know how to use "still".
"still/anyway" in Japanese...「でも」or「そうであっても」or「～にもかかわらず」
I feel "still" is alike "but".
Other examples:
I am tired, but I will still go to work. (...but I will go to work anyway.)
I don't like rice, but I still eat some from time to time. (...I eat some anyway)
I'm glad to get a subtle nuance.Not in the text at school.
I'd like to learn more like this.
