Elected? Rejected?

第1回神戸マラソンが2011年11月に行われます。
I applied to the marathon.
私は申込みました。
The organizers said a lottery will be held to select participants because there were oversubscribed applicants.
主催者は、定員以上の申込みがあったので、抽選を行うと発表しました。
I received the result of the lottery today by e-mail.
私は今日、抽選の結果をＥメールで受け取りました。
The e-mail said that I was elected!!
Ｅメールには『当選』と書いてありました。

However, I clicked the URL which was put on the e-mail and saw of the web-page for application, I found the letter "REJECTED" as the result of the lottery.
しかし、そのＥメールに表示されたＵＲＬをクリックして申込用のWebページを見ると、抽選結果は『落選』と書いてありました。

What the hell!!
何てこった!!
I called the organizers and asked whether I was elected or rejected.
私は主催者に電話をかけて、私は当選なのか落選なのかを尋ねました。
The organizer said that it was caused by the problem with their computer system, and they couldn't get to know who were the elected person.
主催者は、これは主催者のコンピュータシステムの故障で起きたことであり、誰が当選者なのかは彼らもわからないと答えました。
I thought it was an unbelievable trouble.
信じられないトラブルだと思いました。
If the same trouble were occurred in the computer system for a public lottery, it would bring about many riots all over Japan. (^ ^;)
もし、同じトラブルが宝くじ用のコンピュータシステムで起こったら、日本中で暴動が起きるかもしれません。(^ ^;)

However, I clicked the URL which was put on my e-mail and saw the web-page for the application, I read the letter and it said "REJECTED" as the result of the lottery.
I called the organizers and asked whether I was selected or rejected.
The organizer said that it was caused by problems with their computer system, and they would not be able to find out the selected people.
I thought it was unbelievably troublesome.
If the same trouble were to have occurred in the computer system for a public lottery, it would bring about many riots all over Japan.

Anyway, I received the revised report on the results of the lottery from the organizers of the marathon by e-mail today, the report said that I was really selected!! (^ ^)
The 1st Kobe Marathon will be held on in November 2011.

I received the results of the lottery today by e-mail. ("I received the results today" is very common, regardless of whether it's just one result or many.)
However, when I clicked the URL which was put on in the e-mail and saw of went to the web page for checking the application status, I found the letter it said I was "REJECTED" as the result of the lottery.
The organizer said that it was caused by the problems with their computer system, and they couldn't get to know look up who were the elected person selected people.
