I got the text message which said that a grandmother of my senior had passed away afternoon. I became sad because my senior was friendly with me so I thought she would feel sorrow. I went to the funeral and my senior came to me and expressd thankfulness to me. She looked so sad and tired. I wanted to help her but I could not do anything except saying "Your grandmother went to a good place or a heaven. Cheer up!" It was the first time to attend a funeral to me. I put one chrysanthemum plant on the altar and bowed to her grandmother. I felt that a death was not separated from a life and decided to do well with my grandmother.

By "senior" did you mean something like "선배"?
We tend to call people "classmates" or "school friends" even if they're older, so there's not a good direct translation.
In fact, English subtitles for Korean movies and dramas sometimes just say "seonbae" instead of trying to translate it. It's annoying.
