To learn past tense

I heard that verb "to learn" has two past tenses: "learned" and "learnt". And both are correct. Is that so?
Just like: Today I learnt new words.
Just like: Today I learnt new words.

Yes, they are both fine.
'Learned' is generally used today, still you sometimes hear 'learnt' especially in British English.
