気分転換

Today, I want to try something different. I think I will write today's diary only in English. Feel free to leave your comments in English! If you don't understand something, I will try to explain it.

Actually, today's journal is about the title (気分転換). In English it means "change of pace/mood." I heard this word awhile ago but forgot it. Then, I heard it again on a radio program and now I will never forget it. Studying a word and then hearing it used in the real world helps you memorize it easier. At least, that is what I think. Attaching an experience/emotion to a word makes it easier to remember. If you cannot remember an English word, try attaching an experience/emotion to it! I bet it will become easier to remember.

Do you guys want me to keep writing journals in English? Does it help you study? Please let me know!

Yeah, it helps my English a lot, but I want YOU to learn Japanese, too. So I want you to be ambitious to learn Japanese on Lang-8, which means you should write your entry in Japanese. Well, both are OK with me.^^ Thank you for your kindness, anyway.

I agree. I remembered some expressions or words, reading my friends' journals with English subtitles. Actually I saw some of them much before, but I've forgotten them.

How about writing in both English and Japanese? I think it would help English learners. For me, journals with English subtitles are always very helpful. And such journals are easy to correct at the same time.

I don't think it seems to be appropriate for English native speakers to write English journals on this website. But personally I want to read not only the journals written by English learners but also native English speakers. So I think it's really helpful for us English leaners to read this kind of journals. Thank you very much!! And please forgive my bad English. It's very difficult for me to express my opinion in English,,,XD

  • Attaching an experience/emotion to a word makes it easier to remember. 同感です。 同様な経験が有ります。 I agree. I have the same experiences.

  • If you cannot remember an English word, try attaching an experience/emotion to it! 強烈な印象を数多く持つには、間違いを正されることが最も効率的であります。 その意味で、和英併記で真意を表し、それに基づく添削を受けることが、外国語習得の近道だと思われます。In order to have impressive experiences as many as possible, it is most effective to get corrections on the mistakes. In that way, expressing the real intention by two languages and getting the corrections based on that is the most fastest way to master foreign langages,, I'm sure.

I like to read your journals in Japanese and English. It was good to learn how to say 気分転換 in English. I doubt my dictionary but you're a native English speaker. So, I can believe that 気分転換 is change of pace/mood in English.
If you write your journals in English, these are helpful for me and I'm very happy.

Of course when you want to write journals in Japanese, please write them and I'm very happy to correct it.
Thank you ~(^.^)~

ネイティブか、ほぼネイティブのレベルの人でないとわからないレベルの難しい英語だと読む気が起こらないけど、今回マイケルが書いてるくらいの分かりやすい英語なら読んで楽しいよ~。
