If you love somebody, what would you say to the person in English?
Japanese people ofthen say, “Tukiatte kudasay”
It is similar to “Will you be my girl/boyfrind?” in English.
However I realized that “Tukiatte kudasai” was not equivalent to English.
When I watch Western dramas or movies, they begin to kiss before saying something.
Japanese people don't kiss so ofthen like them, whenever I see the scene, I felt the culture of difference.
I also realized that Westerners ofthen say “I love you” to their family.
Japanese people too shy to say that to our family but we should say that.

Actually every Japanese man I kissed was not a good kisser so maybe it's not so important for Japanese women :)

The Japanese often say, “Tukiatte kudasay” (Japanese refers to people from Japan so it is not necessary to add 'people' after Japanese)
However I realized that the meaning of “Tukiatte kudasai” is different from English.
For example, in English speaking Asian countries, we usually ask the question rather than kiss.
I think the American culture is more open :)
Very few Japanese young couple sometimes kiss in public but we think “That's disgusting!”

I think in Japanese culture they express more communication through physical action. (Bowing, for example.) I think you can express your love through action.
Anyone can say "I love you," but it is much better to show your love through action.
We bow the other end of the line. (^_^;)
Our culture has 以心伝心（いしんでんしん), it means understanding each other without talking.
However it is too difficult to understand each other.
