When my American friend and I were cross the wide street, I stopped at a red traffic light.
He said, “I usually cross roads at a traffic red light when there are no cars.”
We didn't see any cars there certainly but the road was wide so no wonder to stop there for me.
When I cross very narrow roads, I sometimes ignore red lights.
However if children are right there, I always stop at a red light.
I don't know the children but adults have to be role models for all children.
Some my foreigner friends praised Japanese people for the good driving manners.
They told me that road rages happen a lot in their countries.
However some people in city areas in Japan started to go to work or school by bicycle so bad manners of them are becoming serious problem recently.

He said, “I usually cross roads at a traffic red light when there are no cars.”
We certainly didn't see any cars there certainly but the road was wide so, for me, its not a question we would have to no wonder to stop there for me.
When I cross very narrow roads, I sometimes ignore red lights.

However some people in the city areas in Japan who start to go to work or school by bicycle have so bad manners of them so they are becoming a serious problem recently. OR However, in urban areas, some Japanese people use their bicycles to go to work or school and some have bad manners. It's becoming a serious problem recently.
I like the video clip a lot. It looks cute to me. ^^
According to my American friend, it is much easier in America.
After the earthquake, a lot of people use their bicycles to go to work.
Thank you for your corrections.
When my American friend and I were crossing a wide street, I stopped at a red traffic light. (were you driving? It's unclear.)
However if children were right there, I would always stop for the red light.
I may not know the children, but adults have to be role models for them.
Some of my foreign friends praised Japanese people for their good driving manners.
They told me that road rage happens a lot in their countries.
However, some people in the metro areas in Japan have started to go on their bikes to work or school so their bad manners have become a serious problem recently.
There are bad drivers here too, mostly in Chinatown and Hollywood, lol.
We went to Edo museum in Sumida word.
I use to live in Aichi-ken, as you said, it is famous for their bad driving manners.
Thank you for your corrections.
When my American friend and I were cross the wide street, I stopped at a red traffic light. - if you were walking I'd say "pedestrian light".
He said, “I usually cross roads on a red light when there are no cars.”
We didn't see any cars there certainly but the road was wide so no wonder I stopped there.
However if children are around, I always stop at a red light.
However more people in city areas in Japan have started to go to work or school by bicycle so bad manners are becoming a serious problem. You should say "more" here because people did this before but now the number has increased.
Everybody are rushing in the morning, I understand their feelings.
I don't like some mothers who are with small children cross roads on a red light.
Thank you for your corrections.
We stop at red traffic lights, observe good driving manners in Japan
Certainly, we didn't see any cars there but the road was wide so it was natural/obvious for me to stop there.
When I walk across very narrow roads, I sometimes ignore red lights. to avoid ambiguity
However, if children are right there, I always stop at a red light.
On the other hand, as you say, people on bicycles are infuriating. Old women are the worst, with the weird way they hobble onto their bicycles and then zig zag along the road until they gain speed and straighten out, never bothering to check around them for traffic or pedestrians.
As you know roads are narrow here so it is difficult to get along with pedestlian, cars and bicycles.
Japanese people like having insurances but I don't want to buy bicycle' insurance.
Everybody should observe good manners.
Thank you for your corrections.
