*My Mischievous Plan! ちょっとしたいたずら!

I felt good after writing about something in my previous journal, which was weighing on my mind for a couple of days. I realized again that I was a really simple mold!
This afternoon, I went food-shopping to a supermarket nearby my house. When I saw a young female cashier, I remembered an incident occurred at the beginning of this month. It was a funny event for me, which I actually set up!
I was with an American young man in the supermarket a couple of weeks ago, who was one of my Lang-8 friends. We both remembered a big difference between America and Japan, which was how cashiers behave to customers. In America, lots of cashiers try to talk to customers while they were running the cash register, while Japanese cashiers wouldn't talk. Of course, customers wouldn't bother their work by talking.
Then, I came up with an idea that was funny-ha-ha! My curiosity reached to the top, which I wanted to see how a cashier would behave if a customer talked to her in Japan. I totally came off childish, you know, I had the American guy talk to a cashier in Japanese. The idea stimulated my interest to the fullest degree! And, I was peeking the scene apart from them with laughter suppressed.
The young cashier-girl looked very surprised when the guy struck up a conversation to her. I saw her nodding her head and opening her lips. She looked nervous, but I think that she might have been happy to have such an interesting and friendly American guy as her customer.
After that, I asked him what he talked about to her. It was funny to know that he started talking about an explosion of an active volcano that was located in my city. Thier small conversation was not associated with his purchases at all, and it cracked me up no matter how many times I remembered it.
Maybe it was the first international exchange for the young cashier to talk with a nice American man! I guess I gave her a fun surprise that day! Hopefully! (^^)

From a distance, I observed the scene while trying desperately to suppress (or "hold back") my laughter. (Just one alternative I could think of)
