One of the tangible examples of my New Year resolution is to be able to speak English nearly as good as native speakers! I may sound nuts to you; however, I took the plunge and made my resolution public.
Now I believe that what I think and say could turn out to be true. If I were to continue ruling out anything as impossible, nothing would become a reality. Don't you think so?
At first, I thought that I should study ABC's of English grammar for that. But, what I picked up from my book-shelf was a "grammar book for advanced learners." It has accumulated dust, because I've just kept it without using for years. It's a mystery why I grabbed it, although I had believed that I wouldn't pull off such a difficult book. Also, it's mysterious that I bought it just when I started learning English.
Anyway, the book and I formed a connection with each other.
In each chapter, there is an explanation on the left page, and a question sheet on the right page. I have done three chapters out of 120, and was impressed to learn that it was filled with lots of new information for me. English is profound!
I was brought back to the past that a Canadian English-teacher told me that the book was very good, but it was full of things that even native-speakers didn't know.
It doesn't matter who knows or who doesn't know about the information, as I want to learn it now. (^^)
I just want to have a go at it.
If I do it one chapter per day, I can finish it in four months! Yay!
Then, my head would be swimming and drowning in tons of information!
hahaha
(^^)

I might be a geek who corrects such books, even though I don't study so hard. lol I hope you'll enjoy learning something new from the book.

Nice motivational write up, mirai-san.
Your article inspires me to study even harder now. To be very honest to you, your English might be better than mine xDDD
Anyway, all the best and a wonderful 2012
Believe me, your Japanese is better than mine! (^^)
I read your profile and recent journal, and I was surprised.
Thank you for your corrections and comment!!!

溺れないでください (^_-)
Your English is already very good, so if you study hard I'm sure you'll be able to reach your goal.
これからも、お互いに頑張りましょう!
Thank you!!!
泳いで、泳いで、溺れないようにがんばります! ^_^笑
Would you please teach me this?
I've often been corrected "know" to "learn" so far, but I still don't know how different they are.
新しい情報がいっぱいあることを 知って 感動した。
知る can be translated as "know" or "learn", right?
If it was "know" in the sentence, what would it mean? どんな意味になりますか?
ありがとう!
I made a journal enty in order to ask this question today.
I hope I can get some answers, and get a key to solving the mystery~
これから、みらいさんの日記を読んで、knowとlearnの違いを説明します。^^
