My Japanese friend sent us, all of whom are members of an English-club, an article for our next topic.
She attached a memo below the article; "I hope it will help you think about the topic."
There are some sentences with "will" after "I hope," the other way around, I wouldn't add "will" most of the time. It's because I feel it becomes more of a real possibility. However, I am not very sure about it.
Are there any differences between them?
1 I hope it will help you think about the topic.
2 I hope it helps you think about the topic.
Thank you for answering my questions, all of my friends!!! ♥

No difference. Either of your examples are correct.
Oh, really?
Thank you for your answer!
I think you're right about it being a more real possibility, but there's not really much of a difference, like Mkauz said.
Thank you for coming by and answering to my question!
(^^)
Barely any difference. In conversation the first might get shortened to "I hope it'll help you think about the topic."
Thank you for answering my question!
Maybe I thought too much about it.

Hmm... sounds the same to me. But usually I wouldn't add 'will' though.
When I say, "I hope you feel better tomorrow!" to someone who got sick, I somehow don't feel like adding "will."
I thought that there are some differences in nuance for native English speakers though, it seems not to be.
Thank you for your answer!!! (^^)
My Japanese friend sent us (we are all members of an English-club) an article for our next topic. I haven't seen relative clauses used with "us" so it is best to use brackets, I think.
However, I am not so sure about it.
Second is more natural. First sounds more formal. Perhaps also the first is more future and specific to one situation while the second more general.
A quick check in google will help (helps) answer the question. (In this case the latter is general sounding while the former is specific to this situation).
"I hope it will help you think" 20,800,000 google hits
"I hope it helps you think" 46,000,000 google hits
I would seem that "helps" is more popular, but both are OK.
Hello!
This is what I wanted to know! Thank you so much for checking it for me.
Also, I'm glad to get your corrections!
ありがとう!
A few nuances:
"I hope you feel better." This could be said after a friend's somewhat lengthy illness. (I hope you're [you ARE] feeling better.)
"I hope you will feel better." This could be said after you give your friend a dose of medicine. The "will" makes it mean "feel better in a little while, not immediately. "I hope you'll (you will) feel better tomorrow. This medicine takes a day to ... 'kick in.'" (start having an effect)
Friend to an undecided friend: "Well, I hope you WILL (strong emphasis/advice) accept that job!" It sounds like too good a job to pass up (turn down), and the person is waivering whether to take this job or not. Obviously, the friend really wants him to accept the job. ("You'd better accept that job, silly goose, because you'll never get another offer as good as that one!")
Thank you for your explanation!!!
hmm...with my poor compehension, it is still not clear.
Would you please answer this?
If I catch a cold, and say to you, "I'm not feeling well today, having a cough and a high fever, and I am so dizzy."
Which word would you give to me, "I hope you will feel better tomorrow" or "I hope you feel better tomorrow"?
I know you will give me some nicer word, though, if it happens!!!
(^^)
That would be the best remedy! It will work for my rusty brain too!!! lol
Thank you for your answer!!!
