@@ My Embarrassing Story: No 2
I usually drive, but once in a blue moon I need to use a bus.
One day, I went downtown by bus, which takes about 40 minutes from my place. I'm thrilled to do something unusual, so that day was no exception.
After I finished my errands and I happily bought 5 doughnuts at a doughnut shop in front of the bus-stop, I got on a bus to get back home.
But you know, it is only natural that when I'm chilling out and feeling nice and relaxed, I also feel a wave of drowsiness. You can guess what happened.
Of course, I missed my stop.
When I woke up, I realized that the bus was in a garage! I forced my eyes to open and looked around my seat. Nobody was there! Oh. My God!...but, wait! Wait...I could see cigarette smoke rising around the driver's seat. Thank goodness! The driver was smoking after his day's work.
I stood up suddenly. The driver looked at me with blank surprise. He said to me, "why are you here?" I said, "I don't know." I was embarrassed and rushed to get off the bus.
The driver asked me where my house was. I was too embarrassed to have a conversation with him, but anyway I answered where I should've gotten off. I started walking without knowing where I actually was or which way I should go.
The bus driver was kind enough to follow me with his big bus, and he told me that he would take me to my place. It was evening, and I don't remember how I felt at the time. I must have had mixed feelings; both relief and shame.
When the bus pulled over at my place, I said to him, "thank you very much," and handed one doughnut out of the box to him, and rushed to get off the bus.
Several months later, I realized that I should've paid him for the bus fare! I left him without paying a penny! I also regret that I gave him only one doughnut while holding the other four in my hand!
lol

I was about to be stuck in the bus all night....phew!
(^^)
Thank you for your comment!!!
I usually drive whenever I go, but once in a blue moon there are some occasions when I need to use a bus.
One day, I went to a downtown by taking the bus, where it takes about 40 minutes from my place.
I finished my errands at the shopping plaza, and I happily bought 5 donuts/doughnuts at a donut shop in front of the bus-stop.
I got on a bus to get back home. without any problems.
You know, it is a natural phenomenon that I feel (dozy in a soporific "chill-out" swing) [what? lol].
When I became awake from an illusion, I realized that the bus was in a carbarn! (?)
I forced my eyes to open and looked around my seat.
I could see cigarette smoke rising around the driver's seat.
I stood up suddenly.
The bus driver was kind enough to follow me with his big bus, and he told me that he would take me to my place.
I must have had mixed feelings; both relief and shame.
When the bus pulled over at my place, I said to him, "Thank you very much," and handed one doughnut out of the box to him, and rushed to get off the bus.
Several months later, I found myself obliged to pay the bus fare. (You were forced to pay? You forgot?)
I also regret that I gave him only one doughnut while holding the other four in my hand!
the bus drivers here would never do that for you. they would probably laugh at you.
also the other people on the bus would steal your purse if you fell asleep. lol =)
I wanted to say,「気持ちのいい、しずかな 揺れ」 hahaha, 意味不明? I coined the phrase!
I wanted to say 「数ヶ月たってから、”バス運賃を払わないといけなかった!”と 気づきました。
Yeah~ Maybe it was better for me to be laughed! hahaha
Did you see that some drunken men were sleeping on a train or at a train station in Japan? I wonder why Japanese thieves wouldn't steal their purses from them? ! haha
It might be easier..
I had to look up "soporific" in the dictionary, lol.
I think this sounds better in the context of the story, though it's not an accurate translation.
Before I left Japan, I was at the airport for a long time and I was able to sleep peacefully before my flight. That was really something...
I know how you felt there!
Thank you for teaching these!!! I appreciate that!
I usually drive whenever I go, but once in a blue moon there are some occasions when I need to use a bus. 「Whenever I go」isn't needed and is unnatural. 「Once in a blue moon」is an expression meaning "rarely", so you don't need to describe frequency again.
One day, I went downtown by taking the bus, where it which takes about 40 minutes from my place. Not incorrect—just making it a bit more natural.
I finished my errands at the shops ping area, and I happily bought 5 doughnuts at a donut shop in front of the bus-stop. One question: why did you spell doughnut/donut two ways in one sentence? Haha!
When I woke up, I realized that the bus was in a carbarn (garage?)!
There was a The driver was smoking after his day's work.
The driver was in looked at me with blank surprise.
I started walking without knowing where it I actually was or which way I should go.
A very kind driver, indeed.
お久しぶり、mirai。
Long time no see~~~ How have you been?!
Thank you so much for coming by and correcting my entry!!!!!
Yes, he is. I was surprised.
Thank you very much for correcting this. My sentence tends to be too wordy. I really appreciate that you made it simple. And you did some other sentences too. Thanks!
I thought I would sound smart if I used two ways to spell! hahaha, Was I not? lol
I'm (always) thrilled to do something unusual, so that day was no exception.
When I woke from my dream, I realized that the bus was in a garage!
Good thing the driver was so nice. I hope he enjoyed his doughnut (^_-)
Thank you for your corrections!!!

It's good that I can talk about it as a funny story!
By the way, thank you so so so so much for taking time to check my English!!!
Let's English and Japanese battle again if you like! It was a good speaking-practice for me.
Good Night and an Pleasant Dreams!
Treehugger,Hello!
We did "English&Japanese battle" on skype the other day, silly?, and he won.
Imagine you speak Japanese and I speak English, which person do you think would give up and start speaking one's own language?
Actually, I gave up and started speaking Japanese~~~boo hoo
Wanna try? (^^)
The other recording! \(^_^)/
Pay attention to how I pronounce "drowsiness" and "doughnut".
I pronounced them like "dowsiness" and "dahnut", now I knew how to pronounce them!
I was listening to your recording without reading...then, the story sounds really funny. hahaha I bet you are a better actor than Joey in "Friends"!!! Joey wants to be an actor, you know?
How YOU doin'!!! >It's his way to seduce girls! lol
I'm a Friends-otaku, but not "moe"~~
Sometimes I say "How YOU doin!" (^_^)
Let me know if there are some words that you want me to say slower. I can make another recording if you need me to.
haha,
Thank you for your recording!!! Nachan and I will study it together with the recording on Thursday! I actually rerecorded it the other day.
