Yesterday was a horrible day for me.
As you might know, the period from August 13th to 15th is called "obon" in Japanese, which is the second biggest event, after New Year's Day. We usually have family gatherings, and visit our relatives graves and put flowers on them and pray.
I was looking forward to the event, because we were planning to eat out together afterward.
What happened to me was that I felt really sick just after we met. I was about to faint, I felt dizzy and could not continue standing. Some people brought me pieces of ice, and I was taken to the emmergency room. I had thought that I might have gotten heat stroke.
It was food poisoning, and my symptoms were due to dehydration. I also had a high fever in the evening.
The terrible feeling lasted the whole day, and I could not eat anything. To make matters worse, I did not write my diary yesterday, which I haven't done for the last seven months. I continued writing it, no matter what( happened).
Although I might have been able to write an entry of a few lines, I decided not to write, to see if the world would end if I did not! (Although I might have been able to write an entry of a few lines, I made so bold as not to do it, so as to see if the world would end if I didn't!)
When I woke up this morning, I learned the world has continued on.(the world is still here, life is still going on.)

As you may know, the period from August 13th to 15th is called "obon" in Japanese and is the second biggest event following the New Year's Day.
We usually have family gatherings, and visit the graves of our relatives, and put flowers on them and pray.(note: "a grave" sounds unspecific)
I was looking forward to the event, because my family was planning to eat out together after that.
What happened to me was that I felt really sick just after seeing my family.
I was about to be faint, felt dizzy and could not stay standing.
Some people brought me pieces of ice, and I was taken to the emergency room.
I had thought that I might have gotten heat stroke.
It was a food poisoning, and my symptoms were due to dehydration.
To make matters worse, I did not write in my diary yesterday, which I have never not done before for the last seven months.
Although I might have been able to write an entry of a few lines I made so bold as not to do it, so as to see if the world would end if I did not!
When I woke up this morning, I learned that the world is still here.(or life is still going on)
As you might know, the period of August 13th to 15th is called "obon" in Japanese, which is the second biggest event after following the New Year's Day.
We usually have family gatherings, and also visit a grave and put flowers on it and pray.
I was looking forward to the event, because we were planning to eat out together afterward that.
What happened to me was that, right after seeing them, I felt really sick just after seeing them.
I had thought that I might have gotten a heat illness.
It was a food poisoning, and my symptoms was were due to dehydration.
I also got had a high fever in the evening.
To make matters worse, I did not write in a my diary yesterday, which I have never done before for the has never happened in the last seven months.
I continued writing in it, no matter what happened.
Although I might have been able to write an entry of a few lines, I made so bold as to not to do it so as to see would be bold enough to say that I would see if the world would be ended if I did not! I was a little confused with the statement at first, I hope my revision is clear.
When I woke up this morning, I learned the world are still going has continued on.
Fortunately life just keeps going on and on, right ;D

A Red Letter Day of August 14th. 昨日は 日記を書かなかった (If you want to use this wording, you can use "The red letter day of" or "A red letter day on")
As you might know, the period from August 13th to 15th is called "obon" in Japanese, which is the second biggest event, after New Year's Day.
We usually have family gatherings, and visit our relatives graves to put flowers on them and pray.
I was looking forward to the event, because we were planning to eat out together after that. (The above corrections are good alternatives, but I think your original sentence is fine)
What happened to me was that I felt really sick just after we met. (I think it's better to word it like this, because "I got sick just after seeing them" sounds like seeing your family is the reason you felt sick!)
I was about to be faint, I felt dizzy and could not continue standing.
To make matters worse, I did not write my diary yesterday, which I haven't done for the last seven months. ("in" would be right for a paper diary, because you write "inside" the pages, but on the internet, there is no "inside", so just "write my diary" is fine. "have never done" sounds too strong, because "never" is usually used for meaning "in my whole life")
I continued writing it, no matter what happened. (I think your original sentence is good. You can also say "no matter what" without "happened")
Although I might have been able to write an entry of a few lines, I was so bold as to not do it so as to see if the world would be ended if I did not! (This is a good sentence, but it sounds a little formal. You could say "I decided not to write it, to see if the world would end if I didn't!")
rg,
Thank you so much for your corrections and the explanations!!!
Questions that I'd had were sorted out one after another by your explanations.
That's a shame that I had a Lang-8 calendar with one white blank, but the thought that I will allow myself not to write it sometimes makes me a little relaxed.
I have still had a little pain in my stomach, but I'm getting better. Thank you for your concern!
ありがとう!
Thank you for your comment!!!
Yes, I learned that the phrase "red letter day" is used for good things.
That was a bad day, but it was good to release myself from self-imposed task because of the bad event.
心配してくださって、ありがとう。
たまには休んでもかまわないよね。
お大事に。
Mirai,I am sorry to hear that. I feel your pain because I know how hard you have been devoted yourself to this diary. It's only few people in lang-8 who could actually be capable of such a work like you. I still admire your ability to carrying this constant updating. Pls don't let you discourage in this incident. It's a sickday, It won't count! Keep up with your great work and take it easy. Glad that you feel better now!
chin chan,

これからは、”書ける時に書く”、ぐらいの気持ちで やっていきたいと思います。
mily,
Thank you for your thoughtful comment!!!
Whenever I read your note, I wonder where you have learned such a sophisticated English. I would like to sound like you in English.
As for me, I struggle to write English sentences with my eyes set on a dictionary yet. haha
My condition has been getting better. I was surprised myself that I felt so sick only with dehydration. Thank you!
