American are so friendly.
When I take an elevator with some American, some of them say "How are you?" to me.
I still have difficulty to get used to it because this thing had never happen in Japan.I like it though.

It's still have difficulty to get used too sense this thing had never happened to me in Japan.

It appears to have something to do with an area's sense of community. In New York everyone has their group of friends and they don't care about anyone else. In a small town everyone knows everyone and so it's natural to include anyone else that they come into contact with.
Of course this is just my opinion. We are a fairly boisterous people overall. :-D
I will be getting used to it soon!
