I'm working on grammar.
私は文法を訓練ですよ。

First "は"
まず「は」

[Indicating the topic]
[トッピクを示す]

Regarding tomorrow, it is Tuesday.
明日は火曜日です。

I like bananas, but I don't like apples
私はバナナは好きが、林檎は好きません。

[Emphasis - "wa" as "わ" rather than "は”]

Oh my! That's amazing!
まあ、驚くべきわ


I'm trying to learn when to use which particle. Tricky because they don't translate to any one English word. Any other simple examples of は would be most welcome!

  • 私は文法の練習をします。 訓練 sounds like "you are working on something very tough"well, i know it IS tough to work on grammar... but.. :)So in this case, I'd say 練習 instead.It sounds more like exercise or practice.

  • This one is hard to translate, but I'd say.すごいですね！But it sounds more like "that's wonderful!" kinda way amazing... :) I just can't come up with any natural expression to say"it's surprising" or "amazing"literally translated it'd be "驚くべき"but... i don't hear people say that often. :(

It's just difficult to translate English into Japanese or the other way around,
since they r two absolutely different to each other..

simple examples of 　”は”

A is B
A "は"B です

ex.
He is my dad.
彼　は　私の父　です。

This is my school.
これ　は　私の学校です。

Japanese is difficult.
日本語　は　難しいです。


Voila, i guess you've already leaned those things...
but I just tried giving you some examples.
