Japanese famous athlete Kouji Murofushi was disqualified due to irregularities
Japanese famous athlete, Kouji Murofushi won the bronze medal at the London Olympic Games. He is respected by many athletes at home and aboard thanks to his high-minded personality.
Although he ran for the election to be an official of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), he was disqualified. This is because he was regarded as carrying out an illegal campaign in the athlete's village. Murofushi says that he has never done the irregularities but that he is solely to blame for it.
In this regard, the Sankei newspaper published an article criticizing the Japan Olympic committee (JOC), not Murofushi. The Asahi newspaper published an article criticizing the Tokyo governor Shintarou Ishihara, not Murofushi.
I guess they couldn’t criticize Murofushi because he is very popular among Japanese people and that they criticized JOC and Ishihara instead. It is usual that the Japanese press and Japanese people use big events or incidents as a way of indirectly criticizing the government, politicians and government officials. It is really disgusting.

the above sentence sounds a bit strange: why blame yourself if you think you did nothing wrong?
It is usual that the Japanese press and Japanese people use big events or incidents as a way of indirectly criticizing the government, politicians and government officials.
perhaps of saying "it is usual" instead say "it's a common occurrence"
It is really disgusting.
Do you mean it's really disgusting that the press does this? or that Murofushi got disqualified.
In my opinion it's a good thing that you (the Japanese people) criticize the Japanese government more :)
I read the English version of the article here

I love the quote "I have never given any lollipops to anyone"
the whole thing sounds a bit childish. I doubt he deserved to be disqualified for this.
