Frozen shoulder?

I have had a pain in my right arm for more than a month. Especially I feel the pain when I lift the arm.

I felt the pain for the first time when I went to the relaxation salon to get massage in mid-October. When a massager stretched my arm after finishing massage, I felt a pain in my right arm. Since them, it hasn't cured.

I wonder if it's frozen shoulder.
Frozen shoulder is called 四十肩 (しじゅうかた) or 五十肩 (ごじゅうかた) in Japanese. Those mean "40 years old shoulder" or "50 years old shoulder", and it's one of the symbols of getting old. Now way!

When I moved in bed this morning, my right arm made ボキッ sound. (ボキッ is a typical sound of bone or joint. I wonder what you say it in English.) Then the pain decreased a little.

I still have the pain but it got much better after ボキッ. I hope it completely cures soon. I also hope it isn't frozen shoulder. haha.

First I thought you meant "cold shoulder".

Do you know about this term?

to give someone a "cold shoulder" = to ignore someone

Well, if it feels like it is improving, that is good news. I hope you feel better soon, too. Most of my blue suggestions are just to provide some alternatives to the other, excellent, corrections/suggestions already made.

My right shoulder has been giving me trouble too.

Bones making sounds can be referred to as creaking or cracking.
"My bones creak when I get out of bed in the morning."
He has a habit of cracking his knuckles."
Sometimes it's called "popped" if it's unusally loud.
"My knee popped when I twisted it."

I've cracked or popped almost every joint in my body,
my wrists, fingers, toes, elbows, knees, hips, back...
I'm ready to fall apart I think. haha

こんにちは。
Sandさんはまだ若いので30肩くらいですね。
マッサージのあとで痛くなったってことはどこか間接が痛んだのかも知れませんね。

お大事にしてください。

Yes, it is probably due to lack of exercise. (^^;)
Thank you for your corrections and comment!

Oh, "go away" sounds more native. I see.

I heard it for the first time. It's good to know! I hope nobody gives me a cold shoulder. (<-- I just wanted to use it. ^^) Thank you for your comment!

Wow! If your pain started after you massage, you should make sure they didn't do anything to cause an injury! I've heard of 40 year old/ 50 year old shoulder before, but I think it's just a Japanese term!

ジャス,

Yes, as you say, I should make sure.

You can try to massage these points to heal it:

If these points are blocked they will feel sensitive when you massage them. It usually takes 2-3 days to notice improvement, and about a week for it to completely heal.

Tip,

Wow! Thank you for the useful information. I'll try it right away!
