This picture is of "Hagoita"(羽子板) which was displayed my shop. After Christmas, I changed a decoration of Christmas into a New Year's one at my shop. Hagoita is the playing tool which hits a ball in New Year's Day. But they are displayed Hagoita, so they weren't able to hit the ball. And they are decorated with dolls wore Kimonos back the board.

ta-chan san, I see these Hagoita in stores. Do the children use them only in the yard or also in the house? I never see anyone using them.

Nope, Almost all Japanese children don't play the Hagita lately. They play TV games.
