Daylight saving time started in the U.S. this week.

My friend living in the U.S. didn't become accustomed to DST

DST is considered to become energy saving.

However, in Japan, if work finish while the daytime, the overtime work might increases.

Therefore, DST isn't enforced in Japan.

Actually many countries in the world besides the US use DST. Please see here for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time
It is a good system for people living in far northern or far southern countries, like Canada, Russia, New Zealand, etc. It is not very useful for countries closer to the equator, like Japan, since the amount of daylight gained is not enough to make a difference. So I think that Japan doesn't need to adopt DST.

I've read that Japan used to follow DST, but doesn't anymore. I wonder why? It's a pretty controversial topic; sometimes I wonder myself if there's really anything to be gained by doing it. I still have a few clocks sitting around that need to be set ^_^;

Hello clockradio
Thank you for your correction and comment.
I don't know that DST is outdated, because I don't experience DTS.

Hello muskrat45
Thank you for your correction and comment.
DTS isn't even discussed in Japan.

Hello Himawari
Thanks for your comment.
