DST is considered to save energy.
However, in Japan, if work is finished during the daytime, the overtime work might increase.
Daylight Savings Time started in the US this week.
My friend living in the US hasn't become accustomed to DST.
DST is considered to be an energy saving measure.
However, in Japan, if people finish their work during the daytime, there is a fear that overtime work might increase.
Therefore, Japan hasn't adopted DST.
It is a good system for people living in far northern or far southern countries, like Canada, Russia, New Zealand, etc. It is not very useful for countries closer to the equator, like Japan, since the amount of daylight gained is not enough to make a difference. So I think that Japan doesn't need to adopt DST.
Thank you for your correction and comment.
I don't know that DST is outdated, because I don't experience DTS.

DTS isn't even discussed in Japan.
Hello Himawari

Why Japan refused DTS , I think it was Japanese character.
