The popular vegetable in Okinawa is the goya, or long bitter melon. It is a good vegetable for health. I'm growing it in my kitchen garden. I have been harvesting it since last week. I have harvested about five goyas so far.

Its taste is a little bitter. I cooked a stir-fry with a goya, a tofu and some vegetable, eggplant and eggs. It was seasoned with soy source. It is called "Goy chancer ゴーヤチャンプル".

  • I cooked a stir-fry with a goya, a tofu and some vegetable, eggplant and eggs.
  • I cooked a stir-fry with a goya, a tofu and some vegetable, eggplant and eggs. There are many ways to say this, but I think this sounds best:"I made a goya stir-fry with eggplant, some other vegetables, tofu, and eggs."This way, you emphasize that the main vegetable of the dish is goya, and also implies that eggplant is a vegetable. :]

  • It is called "Goy chancer ゴーヤチャンプル".
  • It is called "Goy chancer ゴーヤチャンプル". I think you translate this as "chanpuru-" here too. ^^ I looked at the dictionary and, I think that works out best.

I remember that goya is quite bitter and I don't think I liked it a lot! But I want to try ゴーヤチャンプルー
