One of my English teachers told me to do following things to practice English.

・Read English with holding a pen in my mouth, and practice this way 5 minutes everyday.
・Record my own voice when I am reading English sentences, and compare afteer a week.
・Write an English diary everyday even though it is short.

I will keep practicing in this way as possible I can.

[Japanese]
英語の先生が以下の方法で英語を練習するようにと教えてくれました。

・ペンを口に咥えた状態で英語の文章を読む。これを毎日5分間練習する。
・英語の文章を読んでる自分の声を録音し、1週間後に比べる。
・短くてもいいから英語の日記を毎日書く。

出来るだけこの方法で練習していきたいと思います。

1 people think this correction is good.

  • ・Record my own voice when I am reading English sentences, and compare afteer a week.
  • ・Record my own voice when I am reading English sentences, and compare after a week.

  • I will keep practicing in this way as possible I can.
  • I will keep practising in this way as possible much as I can.

A note about "practice" vs. "practise":

The Americans do not make a distinction between verb and noun - they use "practice" in both instances.

The British, Singaporeans and Australians, however, differentiate between the two.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you need any help.

Something has been bothering me...how exactly are you to practise with a pen in your mouth?

I have heard of marbles though it is not recommended:

Me too! I watched it over and over after it was introduced to me. (^o^)b

I think Yangyang might enjoy it too..if he can find it. I think it is quite old? My copy is back in Singapore. :(

Another good correction. If you prefer American English, you can write it as "practice".

I would not use the suggestion about putting a pen in your mouth, but of course, you are wise enough not to do this.

@Kai Tachikawa:

Thanks again, Kai. You are right about Yangyang being wise enough not to try the pen-in-mouth method. He is one of the most level-headed people I know!

@Yangyang:

Actually, I have been meaning to share this with you:

Interesting ... and definitely safer!

All the best, Yangyang. I know that you will do well in anything you set your heart/mind on!
