yasuoogle : Morrissey - I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris (0)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS6B0GdCa9w&ob=av2e

A happy new year 2012! I was absent on lang-8 about for one year..

At the end of last year, I went to the library near my home as usual, and found Morrissey's recent albums on a bookshelf.

I lent all of these and was very surprised that he still has written many great songs recently.

During my teens, I didn't understand his lyrics, but his song are catchy rock 'n' roll and his voice are so charming, I loved them very much.

During listening to his recent songs, I reviewed his lyrics in details more than ever. I felt I'm not so pessimistic about myself, societies, love and the world like him, and I could not agree his some offensive attitudes.

But some his lyrics especially about "loneliness" are so so beautiful.

This "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" include such a beautiful lyrics. Melody is good also. I love it very much.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv94m_S3QDo

A friend of mine came to Japan recently and we met for the first time in ages.
And I felt I wish I could have spoken English better. So I came back here ..

He is a pianist and he played Goldberg variations at his concert.

It was marvelous. He concentrated on playing the piano for almost one hour and a half.
His gentle and authentic plays made me sleepy (This is really a compliment !!) .

(I wrote this draft on February. There was terrible earchquake after that. I and my neibors are all OK, and thank you for all pray for Japan from allover the world in any ways. We Japanese all are deeply aprriciate your kind heart.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zKqQS3kzzs

Just after starting listening to classical music,
every symphonies and concertos moves me very much.

But I've already listened to these for more than 15 years,
chances to meet unknown pieces are gradually faded naturally.

Gerald Finzi, who was the composer living in England in the early 20th century, is one of my recent (not so much) discovery.

I found him on CD of NAXOS music label. I remember how I was impressed. At that time, there was no Youtube. But now when I search "Finzi" on YouTube, a lot of videos can be found.

What a beautiful day today is !

yasuoogle : Brahms - Intermezzo Op.118 No.2 (1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLV9Mmw5t04

I guess many people think this is one of the most beautiful tunes in classical music history.

This tune was made in his late carrier.

Many great conductor, such as W.A.Mozart , F.Chopin passed away in their early age. In comparison to these, Brahms lived longer, so that he could compose this tune. Listening to this, I can imagine his late life was peaceful.

I got to know he had once decided to quit to compose in his middle age on Wikipedia. We are very lucky he hadn't.

yasuoogle : Chopin, F. - Piano Concerto No.2 2nd Movement (2)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN4VYfA2Glo

Most famous classical symphonies and concertos are easy to remember, like "Dadadada----n! ", Beethoven's symphony No5.

But some pieces are not to be able to remembered at first listening,
and these are forgotten and I hardly listen to these again.

Sometimes, I found goodness from these forgotten pieces, suddenly.
"Oh ! Why I didn't know such a beautiful piece ever ! "
At that time, I feel depth of classical music (a bit of exaggerating ^^).
Chopin's piano concerto No2. is that kind of pieces that I liked in recent years.

Because I had a Piano concertos' CD collection,
I knew Chopin's Piano concerto No1 is good pieces and easy to memorise.
But after I listened to piano concerto No2, I couldn't remember this at all.

Trigger might be to listen to this concerto 2nd mov.
on the best classical music CD recently.
"Oh, good melody, like Chopin... What it's name ?..?! piano concerto no.2 ?! " like that.
When I'm listening to this piece, I can imagine beautiful nature motion scenes.

Maybe something changed in me from the first time I listened,
but I don't know what was that.

yasuoogle : Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror (1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5W_uin5CDA

Have you already seen "THIS IS IT", a tribute movie about Micheal Jackson ?
I saw this great movie this weekend at last. It deserved to see for whom want to know about him.

When I heard the news about Micheal's dead,I was shocked even I was not his good listener.
And after that I picked from his songs, "Heal the world" and "Black and White", and listened to these many times.

When I reviewed his many songs of "THIS IS IT", these songs have strong and straight messages, and they are easy to understand what he want to say.
His messages might be a little bit too big for me as a young kid, I guess.

He wanted us to experience extraordinary entertainment, he wanted people love each other,
he worried environmental pollution, he was against racial discrimination, he pursued the world peace. And these songs are all good songs, needless to say.

As you know, recently he was a good gossip target from media. I don't know about details, but that kind of gossips came from a doubt, jealousy and that kind of opposite feeling from sense of honesty, not from the sense of purity, I think. That's why he accepted from the people all over the world.

This song programmed as a last song of this movie (except ending "Heal the World").
it was used impressively in the movie and trailer.
I searched the meaning of this lyrics and fount that
"Let's start from ourselves not any other.".

・・・
:
No message could have been any clearer.
If you wanna make the world a better place,
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change.
nanana..nanana..

・・・

Yes he is right, all all right..

yasuoogle : The Stone Roses - I Am The Resurrection (2)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6QnK0yql8s&feature=fvw

I had a misconception that I've already written about The Stone Roses, but not yet.
(I 'd like to say just "勘違い" in one word in Japanese. but there's no same meaning word in English.)

They are one of the greatest bands I've ever known.
I don't know how many times I listened to their album during my teens.

They got popularity with the first great first album "The Stone Roses".
But after that, it took 8 years until they released a next album.
The next album, "Second Coming", was also wonderful but haven't sold well
like the first album, after that they split and The Stone Roses were over.

Each members are continue to perform even now,
but for me there're no one to exceed The Stone Roses.

The Stone Roses are The Stone Roses just with original members.
I don't know exactly why they split, but they are one of the best bands that desired to reunite.

It was hard for me to pick up one song from all songs,
but I picked "I Am The Resurrection" this time.
The reason is that I saw a documentary about British music on TV lately, and this song was picked up as a bridge of rock and dance song in 80's.

yasuoogle : the Woodentops - Love Train (1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K4wvilbaC8&feature=related

Lately I found Rolo McGinty on Facebook via twitter.
He is a vocalist of the Woodentops.
They acted in the 80's I loved his band very much.
(I've gotten to know them by my friend, I mentioned before.^^.)

After I sent a message to him, he accepted as a friend on facebook, even I'm just only one of their fan. I felt "Internet era" very much.

They came to Japan and I went their concert in the late 80's.At that time, I have no way even to speak him, off course.

Speedy and energetic acts on their live concert attracted me very much.
They released some albums. Most impressive album for me was a live album,"Live Hypno Beat Live". Other studio album were more artistic, and the gap between studio albums and live album was very impressive.

End of Last October, He started to act live concert in London again.
I eagerly hoped to join but it's too far from Tokyo unfortunately.
So I'll wait for them next coming to Japan...

---

I've had a blank for one month writing diary on Lang-8.
So the speed of writing got a little bit slow.

I might not be able to constant entries,
But Yoroshiku Onegai Shimasu again !

yasuoogle : Yuki Saori and Yasuda Sachiko - 赤とんぼ (0)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s2TpRr9-To

Today I didn't select my favorite songs but my mother's favorite song.

Yesterday I had a party to celebrate my 70-year-old-mother.
She's always fine, and she doesn't look like 70 years.

She loves music very much,too.

She always listened to her favorite songs on TV and Radio.
She likes old Japanese folk songs. She joined chorus group in her childhood.

When I was still a young child, songs that she loves looked too old-fashioned for me. And also she always treated my favorite Rock and Pop music are too noisy and too loud.

I was always disappointed to imagine that when I would grow up, I would gotten to feel Rock as noisy music, and would prefer to love songs she like.I thought Rocks and Pops as music for youth.

However my expectation is proved to be incorrect.

In reality, I don't get to hate Rock music, after becoming an adult, just only my interests spread to many kinds of music, jazz, classical music, world music, and so on.

Rolling Stones still perform live concerts as a Rock band. (I didn't know their songs very much.)

Finally I thought that what songs people like are determined
by what songs people had listened to during their teens.

With The Wisdom of Hindsight, I can imagine her favorite songs are what she listened to in her teens. I still don't listen to these kind of songs, but I'm able to understand how she loves their favorites.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPadakUB7ls

Tommy is a vocalist of "The Brilliant Green".

She has solo projects "Tommy February" and "Tommy Heavenly6",too.
This song is one of the "Tommy Heavenly"'s project.

But in fact, she just changes the name of projects, songwriting and performing are all same members.

I loved their songs from their debut in 90's.
Lately I hadn't listened to their songs but I found their best album, and also found this song in this best album. This lyrics are about a separation of graduation.

Yesterday one of my coworker left out our cafe for studying abroad.I worked with her for almost 4 years. She was just 18 years old when she started working my cafe.

I'm not a girl and not so young like in this lyrics, but this song fits my feelings so much.
He is mysterious,actually..
Some are punkish, some are electric, some are European-style.
All of them have a beautiful melody.

When our favorite bands came to Japan,we sometimes went to live and were all in a sweat.

Scritti Politti is the one of his impressive recommendation.

Their songs are mostly made by a synthesizer, but they were not so artificial but glittering* and new to me at that time.

*glittering → I want to say 「音がきらきらしている」.
I enjoyed very much.

Vocal,Takao Tajima is the main performer of this band. He is a good singer but a good songwriter.

Like as Flippers Guiter, who I've already mentioned, many of my favorite Japanese Bands were already splitted or stopped performing. But he release new album constantly and write good songs.

His album is not selling well like Mr.Children and other famous bands in Japan, however, I eagerly hope to act for long time in the future.

This is one of mega hits by them. I have too many favorite songs to choose one.

yasuoogle : J.S.Bach - Largo(Concerto V for Harpsichord and Strings in F minor) (1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RkT3KlJg6g

This piece is one of my favorite pieces by J.S.Bach.

A week ago,I bought a new mobile phone,so called "Google phone".
I struggled to wander which I should select iPhone and Google phone,
but finally selected this.

I don't know how different iPhone and this mobile, but the only thing I could say is I can't go back to previous mobile.

Google phone is rather a mobile phone than mini PC.
For example,we can customize desktop, we can read Gmail and other Google services smoothly, and it also has a video camera function and voice recorder and so on.

Google phone can be used as mp3 player also, so I immediately copied from my mp3 library into it. At that time, I cannot pass J.S.Bach's pieces by.

Brandenburg concertoes fit for the morning. Many favorite small instrumental and choral pieces fit for background music at work time.
Goldberg variations fit for the night.

His many pieces are all mighty for me.

yasuoogle : Huey Lewis & the News - The Power of Love (0)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFaXTcR4dtE

I spent a little bit blank.
Let's start "The Song of the Day" again !

As you know ?!, I spent my teens in the 80's.

At that time, Everything was first experiences for me.
First listening music, first seeing movie, first travelling alone, first joining club activities (I joined a athelete club), first...etc.

Almost all the things has gotten to be in common now.

Seeing the movie "Back to the Future" is my early movie experience. This movie is a story about time travel. Michael J. Fox was so much cool. And also the story was very excited. I didn't see this again, but I might be able to enjoy this even now.

"Power of Love " was its theme song. I got to know Huey Lewis & the News in this Movie.

Huey Lewis was exactly my American West Coast images, stop worrying, positive mood, crispy and fresh like blue sky. I was always dreaming to go there, seeing gray concrete buildings in Tokyo.

yasuoogle : Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby (0)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dH3GSrCmzC8

About five years ago, I started Cafe at the suburb of tokyo.

This cafe's atmosphere is American (Seattle's),
so I had to play Jazz in the cafe as a BGM.
then I started to listen Jazz music naturally.

I've hardly listened Jazz music during my teens.
Even now I don't listen Jazz so much in private actually,
but I found some good musicians.

For example, I didn't know Norah Jones, who won the Grammy Award.
but I felt her music and voice is beautiful.
I found that Sarah Vaughn's song is very familiar for us etc..

When I select a first piece from Jazz,I can't pass this piece "Walts fo Debby",
I've known this melody but hadn't known this name.
His piano works are all good.

I often plays his pieces on the cafe.

yasuoogle : Flipper's Guitar - Goodbye, our pastel badges (0)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niOadhrr3xE

I haven't picked up Japanese songs yet, so I'll try.

I didn't listen Flippers Guitar on real time. But their first album "Three Cheers for Our Side" knocked me down completely. No songs to be able to throw away.

They said in interview,"When listening Japanese songs, something embarrasses us." They sang all songs in English in this album. However their pronounciation was not so good, and some says that was not cool. But I understood what they want to say and do.

I didn't listen Japanese music so much during teenager. I didn't think Japanese language is not suit for songs, but to be able to understand what singers say might be obstacle to enjoy music itself.

I guess that kind of feeling might be one of the reason to embarrass.

yasuoogle : Mahler - Symphony 5. Movement 5 (0)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWVLJYJIxOw

Second previous entry, I selected song　intermezzo like classical music, so, in relation to that, I selected other classical music.

I started to listen classical music around the end of teenager. Before that, my favorite songs were mostly rock and pop music. I continued to listening rock and pop after that, but my feelings was gradually changed, and got to be more acceptable for quiet and calm music.

And also Classical music is not only quiet but also big scale and spectacular that was attracted me. Almost all Symphonies' play time are about 1 hour, and performed by a number of orchestral people. Today's Song "Mahler Symphony 5 - Finale" is one of songs that attracts me at this point.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVVx87qjHRQ

Just now I'm listening "Closer" from "The Boy With No Name" released 2006 by Travis.

I've got to know this album this year. For a couple of years,I didn't listen their songs.I regretted a little bit not to listen such a fabulous album.

After graduating University,Speed of life passing is getting faster gradually and chances to find new good bands was decreasing little by little. On that situation,Travis is the most impressive band which I got to know after being adult.

The album "The Man Who" was my first Travis experience. This album was soon gotten to be in heavy rotation on my music player.

At first,I didn't know Travis is very popular in the UK even won many kinds of prizes. My taste of music seems to be like most common English people's.

Before writing this diary,I reviewed their songs again on youtube, and I felt unbelievable again how their song is beautiful.
